The Application Form

To apply to CMT in Round 2, candidates will complete and submit an online application form. The link to this form will be made available on this website from 9am (BST) on Tuesday 30th March 2010, and will be accessed via a separate ‘button’ to that used to access the Round 1 application system.

Registration

Applicants who applied to CMT in Round 1

Any candidates who did apply in Round 1 and wish to re-apply in Round 2 should (once they have accessed the R2 application system) click the ‘New Candidate’ option on the lower-left of the login screen. As it is intended that Round 1 and Round 2 will be essentially independent of each other, it will be necessary for Round 1 candidates to complete a new application to apply in Round 2.

However, please be aware that Round 1 candidates will still be able to access and view their Round 1 applications if they wish, and so (obviously) will be able to copy content from their R1 applications if need be.

Applicants who did not apply (to CMT) in Round 1

To reiterate - candidates do not need to have applied to CMT in Round 1 to be able to apply to Round 2.

To register, candidates will need to provide an email address and password of their choosing. Please note that this email address will be the username used to login on future visits to the system, and the address used by the Specialty Recruitment Office and deaneries to contact candidates – so please ensure that this is working and you will be able to access it regularly.

If possible, please do not use a hotmail email account to register; applicants have reported technical problems with hotmail in previous recruitment rounds/years.

Please note – we do not require prospective candidates to register with this website, nor anywhere else, in advance of the application window opening date.

Candidates are permitted to submit one application only. Prior to submission, applicants will be able to specify up to four choices of UoA – please note, these four choices cannot be altered once you have submitted your application, so please consider these very carefully before you submit your application.

The deadline for submitting completed R2 applications is 17.00 (BST) on Monday 26th April 2010. Late applications WILL NOT be accepted under any circumstances.

Linked applications

There is no facility which will allow a candidate to formally link their application with that of a spouse or a partner. If both are applying to CMT, applicants should ensure that both partners indicate the same four UoA preferences in the same order, or specify only one (the same).
