2 - Specialties with and without acute medical responsibilities (PDF, 94.2kb)

For candidates required to provide alternative evidence of their achievement of Foundation competence, this list will provide guidance on whether it is necessary to complete and submit Certificate A (experience in posts with acute medical responsibilities) or Certificate B (experience in posts without acute medical responsibilities).

5 - List of JRCPTB Medical Specialties (PDF, 16kb)

This is a list of those specialties defined by the Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board (JRCPTB) as medical specialties. To be eligible for CMT CT1 (first-year) posts, the level of experience a candidate must have in these specialties must be 18 months or less, anywhere in the world (excluding experience gained in Foundation modules)


6 - Round 2 Evidence Summary Form (Word, 50kb)

Applicants need to bring to interview any evidence they have quoted on their application forms, inside an 'Evidence Folder' containing the necessary documents. This Evidence Summary Form (ESF) is designed to sit at the front of the folder and act as a checklist

7 - CT1 Person Specification (PDF, 50kb)

Person Specification for first-year CMT posts, i.e. CT1. These are the posts to which applicants will apply via the recruitment process described throughout this website.


8 - CT2 Person Specification (PDF, 52.1kb)

Person Specification for second-year CMT posts, i.e. CT2. Some candidates may feel that they are better-qualified or better-suited to posts at this level depending on their level of experience. Please note that recruitment to CT2 posts is not centrally co-ordinated as is the case with CT1 posts - for information on this, please contact any deaneries to which you wish to apply.


9 - 2008-09 MMT Pilot Study analysis (PDF, 72kb)

During the 2008-09 phase of CMT recruitment, a pilot investigating the potential use of a machine-marked knowledge test (MMT) as part of the recruitment process was conducted.  This document - taken from Clinical Medicine (2009, Vol 9, No 5, P417-420) - contains the results of the analysis carried out on the pilot.


10 - Application guidance for non-UK/non-EEA nationals who are UK graduates (PDF, 90kb)

Following a recent UKBA/DH ruling, non-UK/non-EEA nationals who have graduated from medical schools in the UK and are undergoing Foundation training will be eligible to apply to CMT in Round 1. The SRO has produced this document to give guidance to those candidates in this category who wish to apply.
