Offers & Employment

Offers

Deaneries can begin making offers to candidates once they have finished interviewing all their candidates. However, please be aware that there may be a delay between the last interview taking place and offers being sent out.

Regarding the allocation of candidates to specific rotations within the deanery; this will be carried out according to local specifications – the exact method and guidelines by which this is done will vary between deaneries. Please see the UoAs/Deaneries section of this website for more information on this.

The offer of a training programme will be made via email, so please check your email account regularly. Any emails sent to you from the application system will also go into your ‘My Messages’ section of the system, and so can be viewed via that portal.

All candidates are to respond to offers they receive within 48 hours of receipt (excluding bank holidays/weekends).

Holding offers

There are no arrangements in place for Round 2 to allow the holding of offers beyond the 48-hour deadline. While in Round 1 this was possible where candidates were awaiting offers from certain other specialties, in Round 2, CMT recruitment is independent of recruitment systems within other specialties.

Employment

Following acceptance of a training programme offer, prospective employers – i.e. trusts/deaneries – will run criminal records and other checks, and approach your referees for references, if they have not already done so.

Provided the above factors are all satisfied, employers will then issue contracts of employment to appointed candidates, from June 2010 onwards. Employers will also confirm salary details, pay banding, rotas, induction arrangements, etc.
